Highcliffe Care Home Gets a Great CQC Result
Highcliffe Care Home in Sunderland is happy to announce that we have just achieved a ‘Good In All Categories’ rating after a recent and unannounced inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC)!
The report highlights comments from residents, relatives and staff, such as: “People were safe and they told us staff were approachable”, “People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible” and “Staff had a good understanding and knowledge of people’s care and support needs”. Comments from residents were also included in the CQC’s report, including: “I feel safe, staff come when I call” and “There are staff around”. Relatives also told the CQC “I do all the signing of paperwork, they [staff] don’t do anything without asking”.
We are all delighted to celebrate this great achievement, with Home Manager Adam Kane saying “Although I am relatively new to the team here at Highcliffe, I am extremely proud of the hard work and commitment that everyone has put into this achievement over the past few months. The energy, love and compassion that they have for the residents and Highcliffe are second to none. A huge well done to the team, I am so proud of you all.”
Maria Booth, our Regional Manager, also commented “It is delightful to see Highcliffe get a Good In all Categories from the CQC, as I know the team have put a lot of hard work and effort into preparing for the inspection. Highcliffe have done tremendously well to turn the service around since the CQC’s last visit.”
Well done to everyone at our home, this is an incredible result! This goes hand-in-hand with our recent report from Healthwatch Sunderland too.
