Winter Wonderland
Staff and five residents at Acer Court Court Care Home in Nuthall ventured out to their local Winter Wonderland in Nottingham’s Old Market Square on 7th December. Following a shop around the Christmas market stalls, they braved the winter weather for a bit of ice skating beneath lights on the enormous Christmas tree.
Speaking of the fun, resident Betty said: “I just wanted to shout, let’s go round faster!” Deputy Manager Leighann Warsop said: “We had an incredible day filled with laughter. Before doing laps around the ice rink, we reminisced with residents about Nottingham and their memories of the town. Their smiles were amazing – this is why I love my job!”
A visit to the local pub afterwards took the edge off the cold, and before they headed home, the group stopped to buy hot sugar doughnuts from a stall for their fellow residents back at Acer Court.
