Avery Ambassador and Kettering Mayor invited to Avery Park Care Home
Our fabulous new care village for Kettering is on schedule for completion this Autumn, and a ‘topping out’ ceremony was recently carried out alongside main contractors, Natta.
Avery Park comprises of three buildings in the village, which will offer everything from independent and assisted living, to residential and dementia care. Avery Ambassador, TV and stage actress Sherrie Hewson, and Kettering’s Mayor, Keli Watts were on hand to lay the last piece of the external fabric of the building.
Originally a Scandinavian tradition of celebrating the last tile on the top of the roof, ‘topping out’ a building has now become a landmark moment to celebrate in the UK too. Senior representatives from both Natta and Avery were in attendance, as well as the care village’s new manager, Rex Pudol. Rex currently manages Ashurst Mews Care Home in Northampton, where he attained an overall Outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Avery Park will provide at least 120 new full-time and part-time jobs for the local economy, and local trades and materials suppliers have been used where possible in the build to support businesses in the community.
Andy Fowler, Natta’s Operations Director commented: “We were delighted to commemorate this significant stage in the build process with Avery Healthcare, their Ambassador, and Mayor of Kettering Kelly Lynch. We look forward to completing the first fix for the building in the next few weeks and we are on schedule to deliver this stunning care home for the community of Kettering. We are grateful to Avery for awarding us this development and look forward to our successful partnership for the future.”
