Head Chef Steve Tatler Receives MD Award
Many employees at Avery make a real difference in people’s lives. Some employees have worked at a home for over 20 years, some demonstrate strong leadership and some staff save the day when break-ins or floods happen. In February, Steve Tatler, Head Chef at Grove Park Care Home, Leeds, received a Managing Directors Award from MD John Strowbridge.
Steve has worked relentlessly at Grove Park to ensure that even with a depleted team, December 2018 remained the best on record for food quality, menu creativity and the person-centred touch which the department does so well. He made sure that every resident at Grove Park still enjoyed a Christmas dinner too!
Steve gave up a significant amount of time with his own family throughout December and January to ensure that there were no deviations from standards within the catering department when we were awaiting the new appointment and start date of the replacement second chef. With help from Group Culinary Manager, Simon Lawrence, Steve also led his team to a Silver CAP Award in 2019.
