On the Buses
With many of our care homes conveniently located in some fascinating towns and cities across England, our residents always have a fantastic opportunity to take adventures out in their homes’ minibus. In September, a group of very excited residents from St Giles Care Home in Birmingham visited the richly historic town of Stratford-upon-Avon to take in the sights and learn more about the famous birthplace of William Shakespeare.
The day was packed with exploring the beautiful roman market town buildings, shopping in the many unique shops, and of course, a trip to the pub for a spot of lunch. The venture was topped off with a surprise visit to see their fellow residents at Avery’s Stratford-upon-Avon care home, Scholars Mews. St Giles Home Manager Faye Gailey commented, “It was so wonderful to see visit a fellow home; the Scholars Mews community were extremely welcoming. Both sets of residents had a lovely time chattering with each other and enjoying a cuppa. We look forward to revisiting them soon.”
