Friendly Competition

Residents at Seagrave House Care Home in Corby have been participating in a fun-packed carpet bowls competition, having been invited to a local care home, Elm Bank, alongside residents from several local care communities. The first round saw Seagrave play against residents from Avery Park Care Home in Kettering, and they won! Much to residents’ delight, they returned to Elm Bank for the second leg of the competition, winning again. Staff members back at Seagrave House surprised residents with a champion’s welcome, coming outside to cheer as they got off the minibus. They are now preparing for the semi-finals and are eagerly waiting to find out who they will be playing next.

Speaking of the competition, Well-being Co-ordinator Sarah Gibbs said: “Residents have been really enjoying it, and their team spirit is brilliant. Everyone cheers each other on, and we have lots of friendly banter when playing on a Friday afternoon back at the home. We are already discussing entering more competitions and inviting teams here too!”
