Droitwich Mews Care Home scheduled for completion Summer 2020

A super new care home for Droitwich is nearing completion, and the topping-out ceremony was supported by TV and stage actress Sherrie Hewson along with the Mayor of Droitwich, Councillor Mr William Moy.

Originally a Scandinavian tradition of celebrating the last tile on the top of the roof, topping out a building in the UK has now become a celebrated landmark here too. The Mayor was accompanied by his wife Dilys, and both he and Sherrie took turns at cementing in the last coping stone on one of the first-floor balconies.

Droitwich Mews will be opening in summer of 2020, and is being built by main contractor Halsall. The home will provide high-quality residential, dementia and respite care and is owned and operated by award-winning national provider, Avery Healthcare. Senior representatives from both Halsall and Avery supported the ceremony. The home will provide at least 75 new full-time and part-time jobs for the local economy, and local trades and materials suppliers have been used where possible in the build to support businesses in the community.
