Darwin Court 10th Anniversary Celebrations

Darwin Court Care Home in Lichfield celebrated their 10th Anniversary on 30th November with a party. Relatives and local community members joined residents and staff members in the Bistro for an afternoon of reminiscence, music, and complimentary refreshments. Kizzy, a Pets as Therapy dog, who visits residents at the home several times a week, also joined in with the fun.

Everyone was delighted to receive a special visit from the Mayor of Lichfield, Councillor Jamie Checkland, who opened the afternoon with a speech. He commented on the warm welcome he and his wife received, and recognised the dedication of staff, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Councillor Checkland proposed a toast to Darwin Court’s ten successful years in the Lichfield community, and to many more years to come. Senior Carer, Diane, Carer, Jo and Laundry Assistant, Carol, were also presented with flowers and gifts as they celebrated ten years of loyal service.

Home Manager, Cathy Salter, stated: “The event was very well attended, and everyone was in good spirits. Diane is known for her positive and cheerful approach, and Jo is always smiling at work. Carol is well-liked by staff and residents throughout the home and spends a bit of extra time as she goes around the suites, chatting with residents and families. Thank you all for your dedication.”
