Celebrating Women at Hampstead Court Care Home

Members of the Henna Asian Women’s Group met at Hampstead Court Care Home in St.John’s Wood this week for a unique International Women’s Day celebration following this year’s theme of #EmbraceEquality.

Visitors and residents enjoyed delicious food, singing, dancing, henna tattoos, and a massage within an inclusive and supportive environment, with care home staff gifting flowers and chocolates to female residents and visitors to the home to celebrate our inspirational women – from the staff team who work incredibly hard, to the women who reside with them who have achieved so much throughout their lifetime.

The Henna Asian Women’s Group was formed in 1982 by Asian women migrating from India, Pakistan and East Africa – with the intention of bringing people together regardless of their different backgrounds. They have built on their services over the years, which integrate people and allow them to build strong relationships within the community.

The group is a user-led organisation that aims to improve the overall well-being of women and their families by increasing social interaction, improving health, and developing and maintaining independence to overcome deprivation and isolation. Through their involvement, women are prevented from becoming socially isolated and are given the opportunity to engage with like-minded individuals with whom they may share certain customs, values, and attributes.
