Avon Valley Officially Opens its Doors!
On the 15th October, staff, residents and friends of Avon Valley Care Home in Bristol gathered together to celebrate our Grand Opening. Avery Healthcare Director Ian Matthews and Chief Operating Officer Sharon Winfield attended the event, as well as Avery Ambassador, stage and TV actress Sherrie Hewson.
Our special guests were shown around our magnificent home and enjoyed meeting residents and staff. We opened the prosecco shortly after the tours, and everyone enjoyed a cold glass of bubbles while the beautiful sounds from our impressive grand piano played gently in the background. We spent some time relaxing together, sharing stories and memories.
Ian Matthews gave a warm welcome speech and shortly after Sherrie revealed Avon Valley’s official opening plaque. Everyone then enjoyed a delicious gammon and cheese ploughman’s platter provided by our talented chefs Gareth and Nicola.
The entertainment for the afternoon was delivered by Frankie Johns, a popular local singer, who got everyone up on their feet and singing along. Sherrie, the residents and staff enjoyed the wonderful entertainment.
As Sherrie left, she was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers made by a local florist. She was overwhelmed by the beautiful bouquet and thanked everyone for an amazing day. The residents, staff, relatives and friends all had a fun-filled time celebrating our official opening.
