Acacia Lodge Impresses Manchester Council!
Our beautiful home Acacia Lodge has impressed yet again after being awarded a Gold Award with Dignity in Manchester Council Care’s Validation Visit Report for the fourth consecutive year.
The inspection took place over two days and thoroughly inspected all aspects of how our home is run, in both care and non-care provision. The report was full of praise, noting that “Care staff take time to talk to the [residents] and learn about them as a person” and that “residents were observed to be receiving care in a dignified way”.
The report emphasised “The care and support observed does consider the individual physical, cultural, spiritual, psychological and social needs and preferences of the residents of this service”. Manchester Council Care saw that “Relatives and family are involved with planning and reviewing care” and “The residents can decide when they want quiet time and when they want to interact with other people”. The report judged that our care plans are “comprehensive with a person-centred approach.”
Our fantastic activities were also included in the report, which noted “there is a large emphasis on music at the home which include weekly Music In Mind sessions…and Sing-a-longs” and “In terms of involvement in the local community, there are regular pub lunches at the local pub and church services. A recent event involved children attending the home from a local nursery school.”
This is the fourth year running that we have been awarded Gold. This is the same length of time that our Home Manager Joanna Roberts has been leading our dedicated team. Joanna was delighted with the result, saying “We have all worked hard together to make maintain the high level of care to our residents and it is fantastic to see Manchester Council Care recognise this with our fourth Gold Award. We will continue our quest for consistently high standards and the well-being of our residents will, as always, be our priority.”
This award goes hand-in-hand with our latest Care Quality Commission (CQC) report, where we received Good in all five categories that CQC inspect. It is clear that our beautiful home at Acacia Lodge is being recognised for its delivery of person-centred care by an excellent team of staff, making us a consistently strong performing care home.
