A Lifetime of Dance and Love
Avid dancers Brian and Patricia Hall first met in the late 60s at a local dancing club in Boston. The pair loved dressing up in their finest garments, dancing, and singing the night away with famous stars from all over. They married 52 years ago in 1971, a glamorous but modest affair, with their finances being spared to build their dream bungalow. The occasion was celebrated with family and close friends. Brian’s mother even had the privilege of providing all the food.
The couple have built a supportive family: two children, Peter and Louise and three grandchildren, Imogen, Harry and Laycee. They were both very hard workers, building a family whilst developing their careers. Brian worked as an architect and was chairman of the Boston Heritage Trust, which gained him an invite from the King to a Royal event over ten years ago. Patricia worked as a cleaner for the Pilgrim Hospital as well as raising their children. They loved holidays in the UK, particularly Scotland, where the weather was always gorgeous.
As they entered their elder years, they moved from Boston, their home for their whole lives, to Milton Keynes, where daughter Louise lives, to be closer to their loved ones as travelling became an issue. Together, they decided that extra care was needed to continue living a fulfilled and happy life. Moving into Milton Court Care Home meant round-the-clock support if required.
Patricia, still very much independent, resides on the residential floor, and Brian, who lives with more complex physical needs, is on the nursing floor. Although separated by rooms, the couple spend every day together, creating more happy memories to cherish. Brian and Patricia’s main concern was moving to a new city, which they needed to become more familiar with. However, following their initial two-week respite stay, Milton Court became their new home.
“It soon started to feel like home. Building great relationships with the care team and fellow residents was easy. We have the freedom to spend time together or with others at the home. They treat us like we are a part of their family with endless biscuits and cups of tea!”
