Avery’s Oldest Resident Celebrates Her 108th Birthday

On the 10th January 1909, a special lady of ours was born. During that time period, Edward VII was King of England, the titanic was about to start construction and the thought of a World War was unheard of. Fast forward to 2017 at Acacia Mews, Ivy Noble, born in Edwardian England, had reached an incredible age of 108 years, becoming our oldest ever resident at Avery Healthcare!

Ivy had spent her day with family, residents, and staff members from the home where they had been celebrating throughout the day. We started the celebrations for Ivy by cooking her favourite lunch in our private dining room, which was then followed by the birthday cake and her favourite tipple. We hired some live classical music from the String Quartet that came down to play for the whole afternoon which she and everyone at the home enjoyed immensely. Ivy was also very happy to be joined with the mayor, who had made a special appearance to congratulate Ivy on her birthday and be involved in the celebrations.

Ivy was also a big hit on social media, where she asked social media if she could get 108 likes for her birthday. Ivy has managed to get over 3.2 thousand likes on Facebook from many people liking and commenting on the photo to give their wishes to the birthday girl.

Everyone who knows or even met Ivy know that she is a gracious and grand lady and everyone at Acacia Mews are honoured and very lucky to be able to care for such an amazing woman.
