We Knew Instantly, We Were Made For Each Other

Maureen and Norman Jeffries knew instantly that they were made for each other and married 18 months after first meeting. They have created a lovely family, with three sons, Mark, James and Micheal, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Their secret to a long and happy marriage is, “Enjoy the good times and live through the bad.”

Their care journey began with home care, which allowed carers to visit their home in Northamptonshire to provide the extra support they needed. However, this was only a short-term solution, so they decided to move to Squires Mews Care Home for a more permanent care plan. Being local to the brand-new care home, they witnessed it being built, and it was an effortless choice for them to make this move after a guided tour of the facilities put their minds at ease along with the convenience of the home being on their doorstep. They found the process simple and worry-free, and their companion suite with patio access feels like a home-from-home.

“The best thing about moving to Squires Mews is that we can continue to live and be supported together.”

As Bowls fans, the couple would spend hours at Kingsthorpe IBC before their health deteriorated, meaning they had to give this up. However, the Well-being Co-ordinators at the home listened to their passions and installed a roll-up bowls mat so that they don’t have to give up what they love to do.
