About Us
Avery Healthcare is a premium care provider in the senior living sector in the UK, with a current portfolio of 98 care homes with several new developments in build. Avery is also in the independent living retirement sector, with four properties already in operation and more planned.
Avery was founded by John Strowbridge and Ian Matthews, who, between them, have over 50 years of experience in the sector. A team of forward-thinking directors and senior management supports Chief Executive Officer Lorna Rose. She says, “I feel privileged to lead our fantastic team. I have been lucky enough to work in the care sector for over 25 years, and it is a joy to see how close and committed our staff are.”
Avery has a longstanding reputation for innovation in the design and development of care homes, attracting global market investment into its assets and creating a benchmark many other care providers covet.
The company has established a reputation for delivering high-quality homes with imaginative design-led solutions and richly furnished interiors, resulting in a strong foothold in the private market.
As well as luxury buildings and professional staff, Avery also pays attention to all the other factors that make for the best retirement living and care so that residents live as fulfilled and normal a life as possible.
Each care home has restaurant-quality dining rooms on each floor, with uniformed staff service to the table; a team of professionally trained chefs in commercial standard kitchens ensures the best at these important social times of the day.
Well-being is another priority, and Avery has a comprehensive programme that covers the residents’ physical, psychological, social, and nutritional needs. All Homes have a busy schedule of recreational and leisure activities, both indoor and outdoor, as well as regular outings to local garden centres, pubs, and educational trips. Residents also want to feel a part of the community, so links with local schools, colleges and social groups are established at each location and with associations such as the Alzheimer’s Society, Dementia Friends, and Attend. All homes have cafés for residents to use throughout the day, open to visiting family and friends, with some homes even boasting private dining rooms where residents can entertain.
Technology is also up to date, with free Wi-Fi for all residents and visitors and systems for residents to keep in contact with friends and family throughout the country and world.
